lizcommotion: Pile of books (book)

Just for the record, I thought Raising Steam (Terry Pratchett's latest) was amazing, finished it basically in one sitting. There was a break for some Haley-petting in the middle, as she was definitely in need of attention judging from the fact that she was rolling around on her back in the middle of the floor and snorting. Like you do.

Don't want to give spoilers, but if you're familiar with his work it's a Moist Von Lipwig novel. It also continues from earlier works in that goblins are involved in an integral and awesome way. There is also some cool gender stuff, really excited to see where that might go in future novels. *resists urge to say more*

JUST GO READ IT AND THEN WE CAN SQUEE.

I must find an appropriate moment to see if this would work for me.... ;-)

Oh, good to know! I figured trying to tackle all the Discworld books would be too much.

And those that I've read I've mostly read out of order. ;) You should be fine! Though I will bow to Liz on the two that would be nice to have read going in--in fact, I may do that, since I haven't read either of those!

I've pre-ordered it and am expecting it soon. Is there any awkward gender stuff like in Snuff? I was disappointed in Snuff. I've ordered this one in hardcover version since Discworld books do not lend themselves well to Kindle form to me.

Pepe! I liked the gender issues in that one. Snuff got my hackles up.
